Lucky Industrial Bedding Corporation was founded by Sean and Nicholas Fillion in the fall of 2006. These two brothers set out on an adventure of a lifetime and that’s exactly what they are getting.

Sean Fillion got his start in the retail and manufacturing industry at the tender age of 22. He wanted to make t-shirts back then and called his edgy new company, Suicide Designs. For the first year he silk screened t-shirts with edgy sayings on them out of his garage. Not only did he cut the fabric himself he even sewed on the washing tag instructions on the backs. By his second year in business Sean started to notice that his business was moving in a different direction. He saw an opportunity for a “Surf & Skate” store in Calgary. He sold off Suicide Designs and started to embark on his new “Surf & Skate” concept. In 1994, he opened his first store, Echo House Surf Shop down in Eau Clair Market, Calgary, Alberta with his partner Scott Hendickson. Echo House turned out to be a hit with the youth market and over the next five years they opened up another 5 stores in Calgary and Lethbridge.

In 2000, Sean Fillion and Scott Hendrickson won Entrepreneur of the Year put on by the Business Development bank. This was a great victory for both of them and only reassured Sean that there was in fact a large market interested in the surf & skate lifestyle in Calgary. After Echo House was completed in the fall of 2002 Sean focused all of his energy into creating what is now become Lucky Industrial Bedding.

It was the time for things to happen. With some inspiration from a whole bunch of board shorts and bikini’s, he ventured off overseas in search of manufacturing and importing. After four long years, he finally had the bedding he created and that’s when Lucky Industrial Bedding Company was formed. Sean is the vision of Lucky and the driving force behind all the designs, marketing, branding, manufacturing, sales and new product development. He plans to reinvent home décor as it’s never been seen in the surf & skate market before. With duvet covers, pillow shams, beach blankets, shower curtains the list goes on and on. With a serial entrepreneur like Sean you just never know what he’s going to think of next! I should know…..I’m his wife writing this article.

One thing is for sure, with a concept as cool as this one you can be sure to sleep in some of the sweetest bedding out there. Oh, and you can decorate your bathroom in Lucky….oh….and your living room….
